Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Reveal First DLC and Shiny Gimmighoul Introduction

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Big Reveal

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet grabbed the spotlight in the June 2023 Nintendo Direct. We got our first peek at their upcoming DLCs, new Pokémon, and a cool Gimmighoul event.

Most of the reveal focused on The Teal Mask DLC. It showed what it’s like to leave Paldea and join a festival in Kitakami. Players will explore Mossui Town for the first time. A bunch of Pokémon, old and new, popped up. Fans saw Aipom again and met Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti. Ogerpon, crucial to The Teal Mask’s tale, also made an appearance.

Diving Deeper into the DLC

We weren’t just teased about The Teal Mask. The Indigo Disk also got some screen time. Players will become exchange students at Blueberry Academy. They will prep for battles in the undersea Terarium Dome. The trailer showed Terapagos too, linking it to the Terastal phenomenon.

The release dates for Hidden Treasures of Area Zero’s two parts are still under wraps. But, The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk are set to come out in fall 2023 and winter 2023, respectively.

When Can We Play?

Based on the Nintendo Direct hints, we might see The Teal Mask in November. This guess comes as Detective Pikachu 2 is launching in October. So, that month seems unlikely for The Teal Mask’s release.

A Special Treat for Fans

While we wait for more DLC news, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are offering a Gimmighoul Tera Raid event starting June 21. This gives players a shot at catching a Shiny Gimmighoul. Plus, a Mystery Gift will give out Rare Candies and a Friend Ball.

So, get ready for loads of new adventures and Pokémon waiting in Scarlet and Violet’s upcoming DLCs.
