Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Release Date Announced for The Teal Mask DLC

After a long wait, the latest Pokémon Presents has finally given us the release dates for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s new DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. The first part, The Teal Mask, will drop on Sept. 13. This gives fans just over a month to get ready for the next adventure.

New Adventure Awaits

On Aug. 8, a fresh trailer gave fans a closer look at The Teal Mask. It showed Ogrepon in a new form that seemed different from any Tera Pokémon we’ve seen before. The trailer also revealed new Pokémon species, including a Duraladon evolution and some brand-new Paradox Pokémon.

More Than Just Battles

The The Indigo Disk part of the trailer introduced more NPC battles in the new BB League. It features a new Elite Four with student members and the main character exploring four zones in Blueberry Academy. Players can soar through the air with boost rings, customize a club room, change how they throw Poké Balls, and meet special trainers.

Discoveries and Surprises

The trailer also confirmed Terapagos has multiple forms. The small, gem turtle known from past trailers and the new Pokémon anime is its Normal Forme. Its bigger form, with all the typings on its back, is its Terastal Forme.

In the trailer’s end, it hinted at more stories about researching Area Zero. This research will likely connect to the “treasure” mentioned in the DLC’s title. No further details or the release date for The Indigo Disk were shared, but it’s expected in early 2024.

Free Gifts and Events

Players can get a free Mew starting today through a new Mystery Gift. This kickoff leads to Mewtwo’s arrival in Scarlet and Violet next month, thanks to a Tera Raid event. This keeps fans busy and excited for what’s next in the world of Pokémon.
