Pokémon Prepares for One of Its Largest Ever World Championships Featuring Numerous Exclusive Events

The Pokémon Company just revealed a lot of cool events happening with the 2023 World Championships in Yokohama, Japan this August.

Fans and players from all around the globe are set to head to Yokohama this August, from the 11th to the 13th. They’re eager to compete or watch the action in games like Scarlet and Violet VGC, TCG, and Pokémon Go. Plus, they’ll have the chance to enjoy fun events celebrating the biggest tournament of the year.

Summer Festival and Live Shows

Starting August 8th, 2023, Yokohama will host night shows, parades, and more. Some events need tickets. A Pokémon-themed summer festival, three live shows, and a special Pokémon Center store with exclusive goods are all part of the fun, as announced on June 19.

Festival Fun at Rinko Park

Yokohama’s Rinko Park will transform into the Pokémon Matsuri Park. Visitors can play games, watch dances, and enjoy taiko drum shows. Games feature beloved Pokémon like Magikarp and Dondozo.

Heart-Touching Performances

The three live shows will star Pikachu and friends. They promise to touch your heart. Two shows are scheduled multiple times from August 8th to 14th. A special dance parade on August 14th will close the festivities.

Exclusive Merchandise

The Pokémon Center pop-up is a must-visit for fans and collectors. It offers World Championships-exclusive merchandise. If the huge Pokémon Center pop-up at the Europe International Championships is anything to go by, fans are in for a big treat.

To attend these events, fans need to enter a lottery on the event page. Sadly, entering doesn’t guarantee access. So, a bit of luck is needed.

Besides these events, fans will be keen to watch the VGC tournament. It features a new Scarlet and Violet meta. A fan-favorite player, absent since 2017, might also compete.

In short, Yokohama is the place to be this August for Pokémon fans. With games, shows, and exclusive goods, it’s sure to be an unforgettable experience. Don’t forget to try your luck in the event lottery!
