Pokémon HOME to Discontinue Support for Android 5 and Older iPhones in June

Pokémon Home to End Support for Older Android and iOS Devices in June

Pokémon Home, the cloud-based Pokémon storage service, will no longer support Android 5 and older iOS versions, as well as specific iPhone models, starting from June of this year.

The decision to end support for these devices and operating systems comes as Pokémon Home continues to evolve and optimize its features. By shifting away from older devices, Pokémon Home aims to ensure an enhanced user experience for its growing user base.

Starting from June 1, 2022, Android 5 and below will no longer be able to access Pokémon Home; and starting from June 1, 2022, older iOS versions (9, 10, and 11) will also lose support. Furthermore, specific iPhone models, including the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6, will no longer receive updates and will not be able to access Pokémon Home after June 1, 2022.

Players who wish to continue using Pokémon Home should ensure that their devices are updated to meet the new system requirements. Android users will need a device running Android 6 or later, while iOS users will need iOS 12 or higher.

Pokémon Home offers players the ability to transfer Pokémon between different Pokémon games, including Pokémon Sword and Shield, Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee!, and Pokémon GO. Additionally, it provides a platform for trading Pokémon with other players globally and access to the Pokémon Global Link service.

By focusing on newer devices and operating systems, Pokémon Home aims to provide a smoother and more efficient experience for players, while also encouraging the transition to the latest technology. As Pokémon Home continues to grow and adapt, it is important for users to stay updated and ensure compatibility with the evolving requirements.
