Pokémon Go’s 7th Anniversary Artwork Hints at Arrival of Paldea Starters, Hisuian and Ultra Beasts among Other Updates

Niantic recently showcased new artwork to mark the 7th birthday of Pokémon Go on July 6. Like before, they hinted at new content for the game. This year’s image has some cool surprises. It features the ninth-generation Paldea starters – Fuecoco, Quaxly, and Sprigatito. What’s shocking is the absence of the eighth-generation Galar starters – Scorbunny, Froakie, and Sobble. Previously, anniversary artwork hinted at new Pokémon that would join Pokémon Go. Yet, last year’s image left out Galar’s starters.

New and Upcoming Pokémon

The picture doesn’t just show Paldea’s starters. It also gives a sneak peek at other Paldea Pokémon like Paldea Wooper and Gimmighoul. However, there’s a tiny nod to Galar with Pokémon Hatenna making a cameo.

Exciting Teases for Players

Looking ahead, the artwork also teases future releases like Hisui Pokémon – Hisui Goodra and Lilligant. And there’s more! It hints at Pokémon we’ve been waiting for, like some Ultra Beasts and Zygarde. Players should also watch out for big reveals at upcoming Pokémon Go fest events, including Mega Rayquaza and Diancie.

Keep Expectations in Check

When comparing this to last year’s image, remember, not everything teased comes to life. For example, Dusk Form Lycanrock hasn’t appeared yet. So, take these teases with a grain of salt but enjoy the excitement they bring.

What’s Next for Pokémon Go?

There’s a lot teased in the new artwork, promising an exciting year ahead for Pokémon Go players. I’m really looking forward to it, even though I’m a bit worried about the missing Galar starters. Hopefully, it’s just Niantic having a little fun and keeping players guessing.
