The Master Ball is a rare new item in Pokémon Go that guarantees any catch, making it very special. Players only get one for free, so they’re very picky about when to use it. Many think about using it on the Galarian Birds. These birds are both rare and hard to catch.
Previously, players warned each other about Ditto pretending to be Galarian Birds. Despite this, one player still got tricked.
A May 30 Reddit thread tells us about this unlucky player. They thought they caught a Galarian Articuno with their Master Ball. But the Legendary bird was actually Zorua in disguise. Zorua, like Ditto, can look like other Pokémon, tricking players if they’re not careful.
Others were not very sympathetic. One fan said, “The content I was hoping for when they released the masterball,” with a cheeky smile.

Another fan pointed out that the fooled player should’ve been more careful. They mentioned that this trainer is already at level 50 and a GBL legend. So, it’s tough to feel sorry for them.
Long-time players know Zorua’s tricks well. If you see one of the Galarian Birds, you can tell if it’s Zorua. The Galar birds always have a dark red circle, meaning they’re tough to catch. If you see a bird with a green, yellow, or orange circle, it’s not a Galarian Bird.
To add to that, the player was criticized for wanting to use their only Master Ball on a Pokémon they’d already caught. Fans figured the player must have already caught a Galarian Articuno since they had it as their buddy. This helped Zorua disguise itself as the Articuno.

It’s sad this player wasted their one Master Ball, but there might be a chance to get more in the future. We just don’t know when or how expensive they’ll be.
