Pokémon Go Celebrates 7th Anniversary with Guaranteed Shiny Mew and an Abundance of Starter Pokémon

Pokémon Go Celebrates 7th Birthday with Exciting Event

Pokémon Go is turning seven, and Niantic has a big party planned. The event will highlight players’ favorite Pokémon, including all Starter Pokémon in the game. Also, players get a shot at a guaranteed Shiny Mew by doing new Masterwork Research.

What’s New This Year?

The Pokémon Go 7th Anniversary Party, from July 6 to 12, brings lots of Starter Pokémon to the spotlight. Players will also see the three Legendary Birds from Kanto. Plus, you can earn Mega Energy for six Starters that can Mega Evolve.

The big draw, however, is the new Masterwork Research, All-in-One #151. This offers players a chance to catch a Shiny Mew.

Masterwork Research is a paid task that usually takes months to finish. The last one, Wish Granted, also gave players a Shiny Jirachi.

Special Event Bonuses

If you buy the $5 ticket, you get double Incense, Lure, and Daily Adventure Incense duration for the whole event.

During the celebration week, players will encounter Starters from Gen I to Gen VII. Each day focuses on one generation, starting with Kanto on July 6 and finishing with Alola on July 12.

Each day brings its own bonus. Here’s a quick list:

– July 6: Increased odds for Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and double XP for catching Pokémon.
– July 7: More Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, and double Stardust for catches.
– July 8: More Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, and double Candy for catches.

No new Pokémon will arrive during the event. But, players can catch Wartortle and Blastoise in Party Hats for the first time. This is tied to the Community Day Classic: Squirtle event on July 9.
