Previously Postponed Abra Community Day Rescheduled for April 25 in Pokémon GO
Pokémon GO players, get ready to mark your calendars! The previously postponed Abra Community Day has now been rescheduled and will take place on April 25, 2021.
Niantic, the developer behind the popular mobile game, made the announcement on their official blog. The decision to reschedule the event was made to ensure the safety and well-being of players amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
During the Abra Community Day, players will have the opportunity to catch a significant number of Abra, the Psychic-type Pokémon. In addition, there will be a chance to encounter Shiny Abra, which features a unique coloration not commonly found in the game.
To make the most out of this event, players are encouraged to activate Incense to attract more Abra spawns. Incubators will also be more efficient, requiring only a quarter of the usual distance to hatch eggs. In case players manage to evolve Abra’s final evolution, Alakazam, during the event or within two hours afterward, the Pokémon will learn the exclusive move “Counter.”
Additionally, Niantic has introduced a paid Special Research story called “Investigating Illusions.” This narrative-driven experience will allow players to unlock rewards by completing various in-game tasks. The Special Research story can be purchased for $1 USD or equivalent in local currency.
Players can expect bonuses during the Abra Community Day as well. The event will bring with it a three-hour Lure Module duration, which will be extended to three hours for the duration of the event. This will provide players with more opportunities to attract Pokémon to PokéStops. Moreover, players will receive triple the amount of XP for capturing Pokémon during the event.
