Pokémon Enthusiasts Urge Game Freak to Include New Game Plus in Main Series for Enhanced Replayability

The Pokémon series has been a big hit for 30 years because it’s simple, fun, and who doesn’t love catching new Pokémon? However, fans have often said that the games could use some better content after you beat the main story. This topic gets a lot of attention online.

Adding More to Do

Game Freak, the creators of Pokémon, have tried to add more for players to do in games like Scarlet and Violet. After the main story, you can fight gym leaders again, join in a tournament, and explore other activities. This was a good move, but fans want more.

The Call for New Game Plus

What many Pokémon players are asking for now is a New Game Plus (NG+) mode. This is something you see in a lot of other games. It lets you start the game over but keep some of your stuff from the first time you played. Fans think this would make replaying Pokémon even more fun, especially for those who like extra challenges.

One idea shared by players is to let gamers keep the Pokémon they caught when they start NG+. This would make starting over less of a hassle.

A Past Attempt

Game Freak did try something like NG+ in Pokémon Black 2 in 2012. After beating the game, you could start over with Challenge Mode, where all Pokémon levels went up. This made enemies tougher and added extra Pokémon to trainers’ teams. But, this feature was only in Black 2 and didn’t continue in other Pokémon games.

Looking for Challenges

Since an official NG+ feature might not happen, players have come up with their own way to make Pokémon games harder. It’s called the Nuzlocke challenge. It’s a set of rules you choose to follow that make the game tougher. This isn’t an official solution, but right now, it’s all players have.

In short, the Pokémon community is eager for more challenging and engaging content after they beat the main story. While Game Freak has made some efforts to answer this call, fans continue to push for features like New Game Plus to keep their adventures fresh and exciting.
