Niantic is focusing on Kalos again for February’s Community Day event by bringing Noibat into the Pokémon Go limelight, as announced today. Choosing Noibat is surprising since its Shiny version is not new to the game. Usually, new Shiny Pokémon attract players to Community Days. But, there’s still a big reason to get excited about Noibat’s day.
Why Noibat’s Day Is Special
From 2pm to 5pm local time on Feb. 5, Noibat’s event will shine because of a new move for Noivern. If you evolve a Noibat during or up to five hours after the event, you’ll get a Noivern that can perform Boomburst. This Charged Attack is seen as Noivern’s coolest move.
Not Just About the Moves
There’s also a $1 Special Research story called Abundant Noise for this day. It gives more Noibat encounters and boosts like extra Noibat Candy. You don’t have to buy it if your goal is just catching a Shiny Noibat or making a strong Noivern team.
Extra Perks on Community Day
The event brings usual perks too. Players enjoy double Candy and triple Stardust for catching Pokémon. Incense and Lure Modules last three hours. These bonuses help during the whole event and even into Battle Raids after.
Battle Raids and Shiny Chances
After the Community Day, expect bonus Battle Raids. These Raids will be at a four-star difficulty level and focus on Noibat. Clearing a Raid makes Noibat appear around the gym for 30 minutes, with a high chance of being Shiny, just like during the day’s event.
So, even if Shiny Noibat isn’t new, there’s a lot to look forward to on its Community Day!
