Niantic announces solstice-themed event and return of Bug Out to Pokémon Go

Niantic reveals plans for Solstice themed event and return of Bug Out to Pokémon GO

Niantic, the creator of Pokémon GO, has announced their upcoming plans for a Solstice themed event and the return of the popular Bug Out event.

The Solstice event will be taking place from June 17th to June 20th, celebrating the arrival of summer. During this event, Pokémon that are associated with the sun and the moon, such as Solrock and Lunatone, will be appearing more frequently in the game. Additionally, players will have an increased chance of encountering shiny Clefairy and shiny Minun.

Alongside the Solstice event, Niantic is bringing back the Bug Out event. This event will run from June 26th to July 1st and will focus on bug-type Pokémon. Trainers can expect to see more bug-type Pokémon appearing in the wild, such as Scyther and Venipede. There will also be bug-themed research tasks and exclusive bug-themed field research encounters.

To make these events more exciting, Niantic has also introduced new avatar items to customize your in-game character. Trainers can dress up their avatars with summery outfits and accessories like a sunhat, sunglasses, and a new bug catcher backpack.

In addition to these events, Niantic has made some quality of life updates to improve the overall Pokémon GO experience. They have implemented a new Pokédex search bar, making it easier for players to search for specific Pokémon. They have also made improvements to the Friend List and Gift system, allowing players to send Gifts to multiple friends at once.

Get ready to celebrate the summer solstice and catch some rare Pokémon during these upcoming events in Pokémon GO. Stay tuned for more updates and news from Niantic!
