New VSTAR mechanic unveiled in Pokémon TCG, featuring Arceus VSTAR

New VSTAR Mechanic Officially Revealed for the Pokémon TCG; Showcases Arceus VSTAR

The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) is introducing a brand new game mechanic called VSTAR. This new mechanic was officially revealed and demonstrated by The Pokémon Company International. The first card to showcase this exciting mechanic is Arceus VSTAR, which will be a part of the upcoming Pokémon TCG: Arceus expansion set releasing on February 4, 2022.

VSTAR is an evolution mechanic that combines the power of Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX cards. With VSTAR, a player can evolve their Pokémon V into a more formidable Pokémon VSTAR during their turn. This new mechanic presents players with a strategic advantage, as the VSTAR Pokémon will have a higher HP and stronger attacks compared to its previous V form. Additionally, VSTAR Pokémon possess powerful effects and Abilities that can significantly impact the game.

The Arceus VSTAR card offers a glimpse into the potential of this new mechanic. With 250 HP and the ability to attack using “Aurora Blaze,” “Judgment Blast,” and the powerful “Judgment Rod” attack, Arceus VSTAR is a force to be reckoned with. Its “Judgment Rod” attack deals 200 damage and allows the player to choose one of their opponent’s Benched Pokémon, applying damage to it equal to the number of Energy attached to all of the opponent’s Pokémon.

This powerful card is sure to make a significant impact in the competitive Pokémon TCG scene. Players will need to carefully consider their strategies and deckbuilding choices to effectively utilize the new VSTAR mechanic.
