Kadabra Makes a Comeback
After 21 years, Kadabra is back in the Pokémon card game. It will appear in a new Pokémon TCG set this year. Fans are excited!
New Set on the Horizon
Japan will see the Pokémon Card 151 set this June. It features the first 151 Pokémon. Among them, Kadabra and Alakazam ex will show up. This marks Kadabra’s first appearance since 2002.
The Reason Behind the Absence
Kadabra missed out on the Pokémon TCG due to a lawsuit. Uri Geller, a magician, had issues with Kadabra’s image and powers. In 2020, he changed his mind. He wrote to The Pokémon Company and Nintendo, allowing Kadabra’s return.
A Fan-Powered Return
Geller thanked fans for their support. He credited them and his granddaughters for changing his mind. Now, Kadabra will join the original Pokémon in the card game this summer. “I love you all,” Geller said, regretting his lawsuit.
This summer, fans will see the full Alakazam evolution line for the first time since 2002’s Skyridge set. It’s also the first glimpse of Abra and an evolving Alakzam since 2007’s Mysterious Treasures. Recently, only Basic or special Alakazam cards were available.
