Get Ready for Primal Raids
Pokémon Go Tour: Hoenn has kicked off, bringing Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre into the mix. These legendary Pokémon can now turn into their primal forms. Catching them is tough, but every player has a shot.
While you first had to meet them face-to-face at Go Tour: Hoenn in Las Vegas on February 18 and 19, they became available for all players worldwide on February 25. Primal Raids, the special battles where you can catch them, will come and go after that.
Ways to Catch Primal Pokémon
There are a few ways to get your hands on Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre in Pokémon Go.
First off, Primal Raids are your go-to. These raids are tough, high-level battles similar to Mega Raids. Only Primal Pokémon appear in these raids, including Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre.
To win, players must beat and catch them in these raids. Doing so during Go Tour: Hoenn might even score you a Primal Groudon with Precipice Blade or a Primal Kyogre with Origin Pulse. But take care, these raids need strong teams and good preparation.
Another way to get a primal form is through Primal Energy. This new feature works just like Mega Energy but for primal forms. If you already own a Groudon or Kyogre, you can unlock Primal Reversion with 400 Primal Energy. After that, the energy needed drops, making it easier the more you use it.
