Some lucky players who got early access to Pokémon Sleep discovered something cool. Not only can Pokémon show up as Shiny based on your sleep habits, but also the Snorlax you team up with each week. Sadly, this special Snorlax changes every week. So, you can only enjoy its rare look for a little while.

This Snorlax works just like any other Snorlax in Pokémon Sleep. Depending on the island you pick each week, different Pokémon will appear for you to make friends with. But, training a Shiny Snorlax won’t make other Shiny Pokémon show up more often. Once your Shiny Snorlax’s training ends, you’re back to counting on luck for another one.

Like in other Pokémon games, Shiny Pokémon in Pokémon Sleep are super rare. They don’t have special powers or benefits. Their color is just different, sometimes barely noticeable and sometimes very clear. But, when they do show up, they have a cool star animation to tell you they’re Shiny.
