How to Evolve Swirlix into Slurpuff in Pokémon Go

Since the launch of Pokémon X and Y in 2013, Fairy-type Pokémon quickly soared in popularity, with their unique and friendly designs aimed at defeating Dragon-types.

Among these Fairy-types, Swirlix, known as the Cotton Candy Pokémon, stands out. This creature loves eating sweets, which makes its body stickier. For nearly two years, players worldwide have seen Swirlix in Pokémon Go. It shows up more during special events but is usually a rare find.

Swirlix’s evolution, Slurpuff, a Meringue Pokémon, follows suit. In the main Pokémon games, you need to trade Swirlix with an item called Whipped Dream to evolve it. Yet, Pokémon Go has a different method, since the item isn’t available.

Turn Swirlix into Slurpuff in Pokémon Go

To evolve Swirlix, its love for snacks is key. First, make Swirlix your Buddy Pokémon. You can do this by tapping the Buddy icon at the screen’s bottom left and choosing Swirlix. Then, give it 25 treats in the play menu. After this, with 50 Swirlix Candies, you can evolve it into Slurpuff.

Swirlix, along with Spritzee, appears in the wild. But, during Fairy-type events, you’ll see Swirlix more often. Don’t miss a Swirlix Spotlight Hour on Jan. 10, from 6pm to 7pm local time. Catching Swirlix then gets you double the Stardust.
