After a long wait, Pokémon Go gamers can now catch a new Pokémon. Gimmighoul’s here, and not just in Scarlet and Violet, but in a unique form!

Remember when Meltan suddenly showed up in Pokémon Go back in November 2018? Gimmighoul pulled the same surprise move after a Community Day last November. Details were scarce for two days until an official reveal explained Gimmighoul and its two forms.

Find Gimmighoul Chest and Roam Freely in Pokémon Go

Thanks to Pokémon Day 2023, gamers can finally catch Gimmighoul in Pokémon Go. But, only one of its forms is up for grabs in the mobile game.

In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you can find and catch Gimmighoul (Chest Form). But be careful! This mimic-like Pokémon can control people with its ghost energy. Look for it in tall watchtowers or ruins across Palea.

While you’re exploring, you might run into Gimmighoul (Roaming Form). It’ll run away if you try to catch it in the game world. But, it does drop Gimmighoul Coins when scared.

In Pokémon Go, you’ll only find Gimmighoul’s Roaming Form. Here, you can catch it without any trouble.

Catch the Roaming Gimmighoul in Pokémon Go

To catch Gimmighoul in Pokémon Go, first connect the mobile game to Pokémon Scarlet or Violet. This lets you send Postcards from Go to your Switch. Doing this unlocks the crossover content fully.

After sending your first Postcard, you’ll get a Coin Bag in your items. Think of it as an Incense for Gimmighoul, drawing them near for a bit.

Catching Gimmighoul gets you Gimmighoul Coins. You can also get these by sending more Postcards to Scarlet or Violet. Gather 999 coins, and you can evolve Gimmighoul into Gholdengo.
