Every year, The Pokémon Company and McDonald’s team up to give Happy Meal buyers a treat: special Pokémon TCG cards. This exciting promotion will start in the United States around mid to late August and the UK on August 23. It has already kicked off in Germany and Austria. Though these cards might not seem super rare, they are still a cool collectible.
What’s in the Set?
From what customers and PokéBeach have shown, the set includes 15 cards. These are all reprints from the recent Scarlet and Violet sets. Some cards will have a shiny holo look, while the rest will be common ones. Each pack has four random cards, with one holo among them. There’s also a Match & Battle toy in each pack.
Get Them All
If you’re planning to collect, you can find a variety of Pokémon in the Happy Meals. These range from Sprigatito to Pikachu, and even include the no-retreat-cost Cyclizar with 110 HP. Pikachu is a special card, coming from the Paldea Evolved set. Cyclizar might be the top find because it lets you draw two cards for just one Energy.
When and Where?
The 2023 McDonald’s Pokémon promotion has already started in Germany and Austria as of July 27. The UK is up next on August 23. As for North America, the exact date hasn’t been set, but expect it sometime in August or September.
How Much?
Don’t worry about spending a lot on these cards. Prices for the 2023 promotion aren’t out yet, but last year’s packs were about $2.50 to $2.75 each. The most valuable card then was Pikachu, selling for about $2 on the secondary market.
