Team Go Rocket Takes Over Pokémon Go
From March 25 to 29, Team Go Rocket is stepping up their game. They’re launching a big takeover during the Let’s GO event in Pokémon Go. As players enjoy chasing elemental monkeys and Ditto, Team Go Rocket is planning something big.
What’s New?
During this time, there’s a lot going on. There’s a Let’s GO Special Research and Collection Challenge keeping players busy. You’ll see more Rocket Balloons in the sky and get to fight more Grunts and bosses. Plus, there are six new Shadow Pokémon waiting to be rescued from this evil team. Look out for Shadow Alolan Grimer, Treecko, and Torchic among others.
Shadow Pokémon and More
The Go Rocket leaders have changed their teams. They’re now focusing on different catchable Shadow Pokémon. What’s more, Giovanni has a Shadow Regice, which is its first appearance in the game. Adding to the excitement, players now have a chance to catch Shiny Shadow Pokémon during rescue missions.
Special Research Tasks
To face Boss Rocket and try to save Shadow Regice, you need to complete the “From the Shadows” Special Research. This research offers some great rewards. Here are the tasks and rewards you can expect:
From the Shadows page one
– Defeat three Team Go Rocket Grunts: Earn Five Super Potions
– Catch two Shadow Pokémon: Get 20 Poké Balls
– Purify one Shadow Pokémon: Receive Three Revives
These tasks give you 1,000 XP, 500 Stardust, and three Mysterious Components.
From the Shadows page two
– Defeat six Team Go Rocket Grunts: One Mysterious Component
– Catch four Shadow Pokémon: 15 Great Balls
– Purify two Shadow Pokémon: One Mysterious Component
Complete these for 1,500 XP, 1,000 Stardust, and a Rocket Radar.
From the Shadows page three
– Defeat Team Go Rocket Leaders Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra for 1,500 XP each.
Rewards include 2,500 XP, 1,500 Stardust, and a Super Rocket Radar.
From the Shadows page four
– Find, battle, and defeat the Team Go Rocket Boss for Max Potions, Ultra Balls, and Max Revives.
This gives you 3,000 XP, 2,000 Stardust, and two Golden Razz Berries.

– Claim all rewards to get 2,500 XP each.
Finish these to earn 5,000 XP, 2,500 Stardust, and two Silver Pinap Berries.
