Can You Evolve Scyther into Kleavor in Pokémon Go?

Every time a new Pokémon comes to Pokémon Go, players have to figure out how to get it. Niantic loves to make catching new Pokémon a unique challenge. This is especially true for special evolutions like Kleavor, which comes from Scyther, a fan-favorite from Gen I.

Scyther needs a special item to evolve into Scizor or Kleavor, unlike in the main series where leveling up isn’t enough. In Pokémon Go, the game changes up these evolution rules in interesting ways.

To evolve Scyther into Scizor, players must use a Metal Coat and have 50 Scyther Candy. However, evolving Scyther into Kleavor in Pokémon Go doesn’t follow the same method, even though the requirements seem similar.

Getting Kleavor in Pokémon Go

Kleavor made its Pokémon Go entrance through a special Raid Day. Since then, Niantic has made Kleavor available only in certain raids. This means the Bug/Rock-type can only be caught during these specific raids until Niantic decides to add other ways to get it. For now, evolving Scyther into this Hisuian Pokémon isn’t an option.

How Else Can You Evolve Scyther?

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players can evolve Scyther into Kleavor using a Black Augurite. This doesn’t require Scyther to be traded or reach a certain level. This item might become the key to getting Kleavor in Pokémon Go without needing to find it in raids. Hopefully, Niantic will introduce this item in a future event featuring more Hisuian Pokémon. But for now, it’s not available.

Remember, catching and evolving Pokémon in Pokémon Go often comes with new and unique challenges. Keep an eye out for future events to grab new items and Pokémon, including Kleavor.
