Can Cacnea and Cacturne Appear as Shiny in Pokémon Go?

Cacnea and Cacturne first showed up in the Pokémon world in Generation III. These two are cactus Pokémon, living mainly in deserts.

In 2018, they arrived in Pokémon Go. These cacti come from the Hoenn region. They’re part of the Pokémon Go Tour: Hoenn events on Feb. 18 to 19 and Feb. 25 to 26. This time, some Pokémon will shine for the first time, including Cacnea and Cacturne.

Shiny Cacnea and Cacturne in Pokémon Go?

The Pokémon Go Tour: Hoenn is your chance to catch Shiny Cacnea and Shiny Cacturne. They haven’t been shiny in the game until now.

How do they look when shiny?

A normal Cacnea is light green with dark spikes and a yellow crown. But, a Shiny Cacnea turns tan with reddish-brown spikes, keeping its yellow crown.

Cacturne looks a lot like Cacnea. It’s usually light green with a triangle hat. Its Shiny form has a tan body with a dark brown hat and spikes. It matches its scarecrow look perfectly.

Finding Shiny Cacnea and Cacturne

During the Pokémon Go Tour: Hoenn, Cacnea will pop up in the Blistering Sands habitat. It fits since Cacnea is a cactus. Also, you might hatch Cacnea from five-kilometer eggs. Finding a Shiny might be hard, but catching one lets you evolve it into a Shiny Cacturne.
