Are Tyrunt and Tyrantrum Available as Shiny Variants in Pokémon Go?

June Kicks Off with Exciting Pokémon Go Events

Pokémon Go’s Season of Go brings two big events in June. First up, we had Go Fest 2022 on June 4 and 5. Now, get ready for Adventure Week, which runs from June 7 to 12.

Adventure Week 2022: What’s New?

This year, Adventure Week brings Rock-type and Fossil Pokémon to the spotlight. They will pop up more in the wild and in seven-kilometer eggs. Excitingly, Tyrunt and Amaura from Gen VI are making their Pokémon Go debut. You can find them in Field Research and seven-kilometer eggs.

Many players are eager to know if they can catch shiny versions of Tyrunt and its evolution, Tyrantrum. Sadly, the answer might let some down.

Finding Tyrunt and Tyrantrum

Catching Tyrunt outside event spotlights is tough. It’s rare, like other fossil Pokémon. Finding it in the wild is a stroke of luck. You’ll mostly see it in events or in Egg pools. Without 50 Tyrunt Candies, evolving it into Tyrantrum remains a dream.

Catching Shiny Tyrunt and Tyrantrum

With Adventure Week 2023, Niantic has released Shiny Tyrunt and Tyrantrum in Pokémon Go. This gives players more chances to spot its normal version too. While the event doesn’t boost their spawn rates, it’s your chance to add the dark blue versions to your collection.

After the event ends on Aug. 2 at 8pm local time, Shiny versions will still be around. But, Tyrunt will become a rare find once more. Its spawn rate won’t likely get a boost outside specific events. So, try to catch as many as you can while the event is live.

Make the most of Pokémon Go’s Adventure Week and add these rare dinosaurs to your team!
