Are Helioptile and Heliolisk Available as Shiny in Pokémon Go?

Crackling Voltage: The Event for Electric Pokémon Fans

The Crackling Voltage event in Pokémon Go is all about Electric-type Pokémon. Big names like Tapu Koko are showing up as Raid bosses, in Egg hatches, and in Research encounters. Helioptile, the Electric and Normal Pokémon from the Kalos region, is getting a lot of attention. It first showed up in the game a year ago.

Can You Find Shiny Helioptile and Heliolisk?

Exciting news for players is that Helioptile and its evolution, Heliolisk, can now be Shiny! Helioptile joined Pokémon Go on January 19, 2022, with the Power Plant event. For more than a year, it had no Shiny version. But on January 27, 2023, during the Crackling Voltage event, its Shiny form was released.

What Shiny Helioptile and Heliolisk Look Like

The standard Helioptile has a yellow body with a dark gray head and ears. When it evolves into Heliolisk, it keeps these colors but adds soft orange accents. The Shiny version of Helioptile swaps the light yellow for a bright red, keeping the yellow only at the tips of its ears and a small triangle between its eyes. Shiny Heliolisk makes those new orange accents yellow and changes its body to bright red, just like Shiny Helioptile.

Catching Shiny Helioptile and Heliolisk

There are several ways to find a Shiny Helioptile in Pokémon Go. You need a bit of luck. One way is in the wild, especially because Helioptile appears more during the Crackling Voltage event. It is also a one-star Raid boss and shows up in Field Research tasks. Plus, you can hatch it from seven-kilometer Eggs.

For Shiny Heliolisk, evolution is the only path. You need to catch or hatch a Shiny Helioptile first. Then, collect 50 Helioptile Candy and a Sun Stone to evolve it into a Shiny Heliolisk.

The Crackling Voltage event is a great chance to add these Shiny Pokémon to your collection. Keep an eye out, and good luck catching them!
