M80 Esports Releases Player Following Racism Allegations
The M80 Esports organization has announced that it has parted ways with one of its players, Samuel “s9mm” Santos, just a day after acquiring their competitive Overwatch 2 roster.
According to screenshots that surfaced on a Discord group chat, Santos and other former Overwatch League professionals were allegedly using racial slurs repeatedly. The same screenshots were provided to M80 today, leading the CEO, Marco Mereu, to confirm the authenticity and make the decision to release the player.
