Epic Reveals Second Teaser for Fortnite x Avengers Event
Epic Games has unveiled the second teaser image for its Fortnite x Avengers mashup event. The image showcases the Fishsticks skin holding Thor’s hammer, with the tagline “Whatever it takes.”
The release of the first teaser yesterday confirms that Fortnite will be hosting an event to celebrate the launch of Avengers: Endgame. This collaboration follows last year’s successful partnership between Marvel and Epic for Avengers: Infinity War.
Although the event’s details are still largely unknown, an update message on PlayStation 4 disclosed that Fortnite x Avengers will end on May 5 at 7pm CT. Epic has yet to officially announce this. However, we do know from the teasers that the event will commence on Thursday, April 25.
We can make some educated guesses about what to expect from the Fortnite x Avengers event. Last year’s collaboration allowed players to embark on a Limited Time Mode where they could fight for the Infinity Gauntlet and transform into Thanos. Players who assumed the role of Thanos gained increased health and shield, health regeneration, and formidable abilities to obliterate opponents. When Thanos was defeated, he dropped his Infinity Gauntlet for another player to claim.
While the previous event did not feature any Avengers-themed cosmetic items, it is likely that this new collaboration will. The first teaser displayed a Fortnite character wielding Captain America’s shield, suggesting that it may become a back bling or harvesting tool in the game.
Players can expect the full details of the Fortnite x Avengers event to be unveiled on April 25.
