Zven Returns to Lineup for Cloud9 with a Strong Performance Against Golden Guardians
Cloud9’s AD carry, Zven, made his comeback to the lineup after being benched last month. This was his first on-stage match since the Mid-Season Invitational, where Cloud9 fell short of expectations and had an early exit from the tournament.
For his Summer Split debut, Zven faced off against the last-place Golden Guardians, which proved to be an easy matchup. The Golden Guardians had struggled throughout the season, with only six wins out of 27 games. One of those wins came against Cloud9 at the start of the Summer Split.
Zven’s Take on the Team Chemistry
In a post-game press conference, Zven expressed his thoughts on the team chemistry. He mentioned that there seemed to be a loss of chemistry within the team, or at least with him specifically. He noted that there had been a shift in the team’s dynamics, with a focus on the top lane.
Dominant Performance by Cloud9
The match against Golden Guardians was a stark contrast to their previous encounter. Cloud9 took an early lead and maintained it throughout the game. The duo of Fudge and Blaber played a key role in securing kills in the early stages, allowing Cloud9 to expand their advantage. By the 30-minute mark, Cloud9 had a significant gold lead and was pressuring Golden Guardians’ base.
Zven’s Impressive Return to Form
Zven seamlessly returned to his ADC role with an impressive performance in his Summer Split debut. He achieved a KDA of 8.0, surpassing his KDA of 5.4 from the Spring Split. This comeback showcased his skills as a seasoned veteran.
Upcoming Challenge Against 100 Thieves
Cloud9 will face 100 Thieves in their next match. During Zven’s absence, 100 Thieves surpassed Cloud9 in the standings. However, if Zven and Vulcan can outperform the 100 Thieves bottom lane, just like they did in the Spring Split, Cloud9 has the opportunity to climb in the standings once again.
