Veteran AD Carry Zven to Return to Cloud9’s Starting Lineup in LCS 2022 Summer Split

According to sources, Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen, a veteran AD carry, is expected to make his top-flight comeback in the LCS 2022 Summer Split. He will rejoin Cloud9’s starting lineup by swapping roles to the bot lane. The possibility of this move was first suggested by Upcomer on April 26.

Zven hasn’t played regularly since the 2021 World Championship, where Cloud9 was eliminated in the quarterfinals. However, he briefly played in the LCS 2022 Lock In.

Zven’s Return to the Main Roster

Zven’s promotion back to the main roster has been in the works since Cloud9’s elimination from playoffs. During the mid-season break, the 24-year-old, who has played as an AD carry for over nine years, has been practicing the support role in solo queue.

As a result, Jonah “Isles” Rosario and Kim “Winsome” Dong-keon will lose their starting roles with the team. However, Cloud9’s re-acquisition of Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen solves the import status issue.

Cloud9’s Roster Changes

Aside from Zven’s return, Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami is also moving back to the top lane. Robert “Blaber” Huang and Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol will retain their spots on the team.

Zven’s Success and Legacy

Zven joined Cloud9 in 2019 after leaving TSM. During his four-split run with the team, he won two titles and made the All-Pro First Team three times. He also had a successful career in Europe, reaching the semifinals of Worlds 2015 with Origen and winning four consecutive EU LCS titles with G2 Esports. He is known for his strong performances and has even scored four pentakills.

Zven’s Confidence in Cloud9

During North America’s preseason tournament, Zven expressed his belief in his abilities and his support for Cloud9. He stated that he is still an LCS level player and hopes to contribute to the team’s success, even if he’s not playing.

“I think C9 can reach new heights,” said Zven. “I really believe in this organization, this team, and this project. This year, the process might be better than ever.”
