Zeju’s Perspective on League of Legends Globally

Korea’s League of Legends Scene

Korea’s League of Legends scene is currently experiencing an interesting phase. The exodus of players has led to many changes and teams needing time to adjust. However, things are starting to balance out. Faker and SKT are once again looking unbeatable, and with sufficient preparation time, SKT is still considered the strongest team in the world. While CJ also looks good, there is still a gap between the top two teams in LCK.

Increase in Level of Play in Korea

There was some doubt about whether Korea was still the strongest region, especially after the spring split where KOO Tigers fell off. However, the level of play has definitely increased in Korea. Most teams have excellent team fighting prowess and mechanics. The difference in skill can be seen in the shot-calling and decision-making, comparing teams like IM to SKT. Faker continues to show that he is the best player in the game.

Challenges in North American Scene

The North American League of Legends scene is currently in a bit of a mess. Many teams played poorly this weekend, including C9, TSM, and Gravity. CLG, while not playing badly, faced tough competition and made mistakes. The teams were rusty, but these issues can be easily fixed as the season progresses.

Strong Competition in Europe and Oceania

Europe is currently offering fantastic competition and is considered the 3rd best region in the world. Fnatic looks like the best team in the west with a substantial lead. Oceania is being dominated by the Chiefs, with their strong team performance. Raydere and EGym stand out as exceptional players. With improvements in the early game, the Chiefs have the potential to make waves internationally.
