xPeke fills in for Origen, PowerOfEvil sidelined by sickness

League of Legends Player XPeke Returns to Competitive Play

After taking a short break from competitive play, one of the most well-known players in the game League of Legends, XPeke, is making his return to Summoner’s Rift this week.

Due to health issues, starting mid laner PowerOfEvil will be substituted by Origen owner and substitute mid laner XPeke for matches against Unicorns of Love and Team ROCCAT, according to a statement on the team’s Twitter.

XPeke has not played with the team since the 2015 World Championship, where they faced eventual champions SK Telecom T1. Following that series, PowerOfEvil was acquired from Unicorns of Love, and he helped the team achieve victory at Intel Extreme Masters San Jose.

Origen’s Struggles this Season

Prior to this season, Origen was predicted by analysts to be among the top three teams. However, they currently sit in sixth place, behind teams like G2 Esports and Unicorns of Love, which were expected to perform worse than Origen.

Despite their current position, Origen holds a three-game lead over the seventh place tier, which is currently a tie between Splyce and Elements. This means that, unless there are any surprises in the next two weeks, Origen should still be eligible for the playoffs.

Challenges for XPeke

This season has been considered one of PowerOfEvil’s worst since joining the LCS in Spring 2015. As a member of Unicorns of Love, he was known as the team’s best player, showcasing his skills across various champions. However, he has not achieved the same level of success since joining Origen.

Now, XPeke, who has been inactive for a season, will have to step up and fill the role until PowerOfEvil recovers from his health issues.
