Xerxe becomes Astralis’ starting jungler for 2022 LEC Summer Split

Astralis’ League of Legends team has struggled in the past three seasons. They have consistently ranked at the bottom of the regular season standings and lacked the coordination and firepower to compete with other top teams in the LEC.

To turn things around, Astralis has made a roster change by signing former Immortals jungler Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir, the organization announced today. Xerxe, a 22-year-old talent, will join veteran top laner Vizicsacsi, rookie mid laner Dajor, and talented AD carry Kobbe as Astralis aims to secure a spot in the LEC playoffs for the first time in the organization’s history this summer.

Xerxe previously played for Immortals in the LCS from the start of 2021. However, his time in North America was not very successful, as the team only reached the playoffs once during the 2021 LCS Summer Split and ended up finishing last in the most recent season with a 5-13 record.

Xerxe is best known for his time with Splyce, where he experienced consistent success. The team even made it to the 2019 World Championship and managed to take a game off Faker and SK Telecom T1.

Head coach Baltat “AOD” Alin-Ciprian spoke highly of Xerxe, describing him as a creative player with unconventional strategies that can influence the team’s playstyle and approach to the game. Xerxe’s motivation to prove himself and surpass his previous performances was evident during interviews.

Xerxe will make his debut with Astralis in the first match of the 2022 LEC Summer Split.
