Wunder leads Fnatic’s comeback in LEC 2023 finals after Oscarinin’s injury

Fnatic Makes Emergency Substitution for 2023 LEC Season Finals

Fnatic has been forced to make a last-minute substitution for the 2023 LEC Season Finals due to an injury sustained by Oscarinin. Wunder, a former player, will be stepping in to join the League of Legends roster.

Injury Forces Fnatic’s Decision

The announcement comes just a day after Fnatic defeated Excel Esports in the tournament, securing themselves a spot at Worlds 2023. Oscarinin played the match against Excel with a hand injury and will need to undergo surgery this week. As a result, he will be unable to play against Team BDS on Sept. 2.

Wunder Steps Up to Fill the Gap

In light of these events, Fnatic had no choice but to call upon former top laner Wunder to play against Team BDS. The winner of this match will qualify for the Worlds 2023 Swiss Stage and the final weekend of the 2023 LEC Season Finals in Montpellier, France. The loser, however, will not advance to the final weekend and will instead have to compete in the Worlds 2023 Qualifying Series.

This situation brings immense pressure, but there are few players as capable as Wunder to handle it. The Danish veteran has a wealth of experience and has won numerous LEC trophies. He also achieved great success in 2019, winning the Mid-Season Invitational and reaching the World Championship final with G2 Esports.

Wunder had previously left Fnatic on May 12 due to a difficult first half of the year for the team. He was replaced by Oscarinin, and later, Noah and Trymbi joined the team in June.
