WildTurtle makes a comeback with TSM at IEM: Unleashing the madness

Team SoloMid (TSM) has made a surprising decision to bring back Jason “WildTurtle” Tran for the IEM Oakland tournament. TSM is hoping that WildTurtle, who previously disappointed at international tournaments, can help them win this time.

There was much speculation about who would replace Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng as ADC. Some thought it could be a star foreign player or a rookie, but TSM ultimately chose to go with WildTurtle, who had previously played with them for three years.

WildTurtle is known for his mechanical skills and flashy plays. He performed well at the Season 3 championship and TSM made it to the quarterfinals of Worlds in Season 4. However, in Season 5, the team struggled and WildTurtle was let go after a disappointing performance at Worlds.

WildTurtle hasn’t changed much since his time with TSM. He still plays aggressively and goes for risky kills. TSM, on the other hand, plays a controlled, macro-heavy style that relies on teamwork. This could be a challenge for WildTurtle, as he will need to adapt to their playstyle.

One advantage of having WildTurtle on the team is his experience and strong foundation in the bot lane duo with Vincent “Biofrost” Wang. However, he is less vocal than Doublelift, which could give Biofrost an opportunity to test his shot calling and leadership skills.

TSM is taking a risk by bringing back WildTurtle, as his style requires a lot of resources. However, for this tournament, it makes sense to give him another chance and see how he performs.
