Why Rekkles’ departure from Elements could have positive outcomes

Martin ‘Rekkles’ Larsson: A Disappointing Spring Split

Martin ‘Rekkles’ Larsson entered the spring split with high expectations on his shoulders. Many regarded him as the best Western ADC and he joined the top European team, Elements. However, things didn’t go as planned for Rekkles and his team.

A Surprising Loss to Fnatic

Elements started the season against Rekkles’ former team, Fnatic. Many believed that Elements would easily win against the new Fnatic roster, which included two new Korean imports. However, Fnatic outplayed Elements and won the game in just 35 minutes.

A Downward Spiral for Elements

Elements’ indecisive playing style and numerous roster changes led to their downfall. They finished in 7th place with a 7-11 record, missing out on the playoffs. The team that was expected to dominate the EU LCS was dominated by other teams. The lack of team cohesion and a fit between Rekkles’ passive playstyle and Elements’ indecisiveness contributed to their struggles.

A New Opportunity for Rekkles

Despite his underperformance in the spring split, Rekkles still remains one of the top European ADCs. However, his playstyle didn’t mesh well with Elements. A move to another team, like a possible reunion with Fnatic, could be beneficial for Rekkles. His passive playstyle would complement Fnatic’s aggressive style, and the combination of Rekkles and Yellowstar has proven to be successful in the past. This move could not only improve Rekkles’ individual play but also elevate Fnatic to compete for the top spot in the EU LCS.
