Wembley Arena in London Chosen for Hosting ‘League of Legends’ Matches

The League of Legends Championship Series is Coming to London

The League of Legends Championship Series, one of the world’s largest esports leagues, is always looking for ways to keep things fresh. To bring some excitement, Riot Games, the league’s organizer, often travels to different countries for competition. Recently, they were in Paris for All-Stars. Today, Riot Games announced their next destination.

Get ready, because the LCS is heading to London!

London, a Growing Esports Hub

While the United Kingdom may not have the biggest esports following, it does have a dedicated community. The country’s biggest tournaments, like the upcoming Insomnia Gaming Festivals, show the passion for gaming. Riot Games wants to be a part of this gaming culture. That’s why, in June, during the fifth week of the European LCS, players and casters will be traveling to London’s Wembley Arena. The arena, with over 12,000 seats, is located next to the famous Wembley Stadium, home to the English national football team.

Excitement Builds in London

With Wembley Arena being the second-largest indoor arena in the country, it’s rare for esports fans outside of Cologne, Germany or Los Angeles to have such an event. Riot Games staff in England are extremely excited about this opportunity.

Don’t miss the exciting competitions happening in London this June!
