Weibo Gaming emerged victorious in a thrilling matchup against LNG Esports, winning the series 2-1. As a result, they are now tied for first place with Victory Five in the 2022 LPL Summer Split.
TheShy Dominates Game One
The first game was dominated by Weibo Gaming’s top laner, TheShy, who played Sion. He had a significant advantage over LNG’s top laner, Ale, who played Jayce. TheShy’s side lane pressure forced LNG to be cautious when making plays on the map. Weibo Gaming secured the victory in a final Elder Dragon fight.
LNG Bounces Back in Game Two
In game two, LNG managed to counter Weibo Gaming’s constant presence with Tarzan’s exceptional early-game pathing and presence as the jungler. Despite Weibo Gaming’s efforts, LNG built up a substantial gold lead and closed out the game, forcing a third game to decide the series.
Weibo Gaming Secures Victory in Game Three
In the final game, SofM’s Lee Sin once again carried the early game for Weibo Gaming. They snowballed their advantages, resulting in four dragons, seven turrets, and a 7,000 gold lead over LNG. Weibo Gaming dominated the game, taking down every tower in LNG’s base before closing out the series at 30 minutes.
This win for Weibo Gaming puts them in a tie for first place with Victory Five in the 2022 LPL Summer Split, while LNG drops to second place. Weibo Gaming’s victory marks their seventh consecutive win, matching LNG’s initial 7-0 start this year. However, LNG now faces two consecutive losses.
Both teams will continue their push for playoffs later this week. Weibo Gaming will face off against OMG on Feb. 26, while LNG takes on V5 on Feb. 27.
