Week One Recap: Flash Wolves and J Team Kick Off LMS Strong

LMS Week 1: Results and Standings

The LMS had its first week of play this weekend as the region aims to make a stronger showing at Worlds this year. Both of their 2016 qualifiers, Flash Wolves and ahq e-Sports Club, were unable to advance out of the Group Stage.

Here are the results from the first week of the LMS:

Flash Wolves 2-1 ahq e-Sports Club

The first game of the LMS 2016 Spring Split was a rematch between these two Worlds contenders. Both teams kept their 2016 rosters and played under the new meta and pick and ban system for competitive play.

Hong Kong Esports 2-1 Fireball

Hong Kong Esports emerged victorious over Fireball, a new organization in the League of Legends scene. Hong Kong Esports performed decently in 2016, finishing in the middle of the pack in both splits.

J Team 2-1 Machi E-Sports

J Team secured an expected win over Machi E-Sports. After acquiring the roster of Taipei Assassins, J Team made a strong push for a Worlds spot. Although they fell short, the organization made improvements to their coaching staff, while Machi stuck with their roster from last year.

eXtreme Gamers 2-1 Wayi Spider

eXtreme Gamers, who struggled in 2016 and fought for their pro league spot in the Promotion Tournament, started the LMS 2017 Spring Split strong. Wayi Spider, who took Team Mist’s place, also put together a team for the competition. For eXtreme Gamers, it was a much better start compared to last year.

Current Standings:

  1. Flash Wolves (1-0)
  2. Hong Kong Esports (1-0)
  3. J Team (1-0)
  4. eXtreme Gamers (1-0)
  5. ahq e-Sports Club (0-1)
