Week 7 Fantasy LCS: Assessing the Winners and Losers

Fantasy Winners and Losers of the 2016 Summer Split

This week, we have some winners and losers in the fantasy esports world. Let’s take a look at the top performers and those who didn’t quite make the mark in the 2016 Summer Split.

The Birthday Boy – Peter “Doublelift” Peng

Peter “Doublelift” Peng, the AD Carry for Team SoloMid, celebrated his birthday this week with an outstanding performance, earning him the top spot overall. He led his team to two swift victories and scored an impressive 102.52 points. Doublelift’s consistency and skill were evident in both matchups, earning him 60.49 points against Echo Fox and another 42.03 against Team Liquid. With a 20-6-31 KDA and a triple kill, Doublelift proved to be a formidable force on his special day.

Eugene “Pobelter” Park – Mid Laner for Immortals

Eugene “Pobelter” Park, the mid laner for Immortals, had a great week, scoring 99.57 points and securing the second spot overall. He had an outstanding performance against Echo Fox, earning him 61 points, and contributed to the team’s victory against Counter Logic Gaming. Despite losing some points due to the scoring system, Pobelter had a productive week with a 24-11-46 KDA and a triple kill.

Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Scharge – Mid Laner for Origen

Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Scharge, the mid laner for Origen, delivered an impressive performance with 96.21 points. Despite being started in only 35% of leagues, he proved to be a valuable asset for those who had him on their team. PowerOfEvil’s standout performance came against Team ROCCAT, where he scored 72.19 points. Despite a less successful match against FC Schalke 04, PowerOfEvil’s dominance against ROCCAT secured him a spot in the top three overall.

Park “Police” Hyeong-gi – AD Carry for Vitality

Park “Police” Hyeong-gi, the AD Carry for Vitality, had a strong week, earning 93.28 points and landing in the fifth spot overall. With only 16% ownership in leagues, Police proved to be a sleeper pick for many fantasy players. He delivered an impressive performance against Team ROCCAT, scoring 56.63 points, and contributed to the tie against Unicorns of Love. Even though Police was overlooked by many, his performance in week seven made him a valuable player.

Vincent “Biofrost” Wang – Support for Team SoloMid

Vincent “Biofrost” Wang, the support for Team SoloMid, had a standout performance in week seven. Despite having a negative kill-death ratio, Biofrost’s 50 total assists earned him 86.10 points, landing him in the top ten overall. His support play proved to be a crucial factor in Team SoloMid’s victories, and he distinguished himself as the top scoring support player in his position.

Newly Benched and Unbenched Players – The Losers

Not all players had a great week in fantasy esports. Here are some players who didn’t live up to expectations in week seven of the Summer Split.

Aleš “Freeze” Kněžínek, the AD Carry for H2k-Gaming, had a tough week with two losses and no map wins. He scored only 27.67 points and failed to deliver the expected performance. Similarly, Michael “Bunny FuFuu” Kurylo, the support for Cloud9, scored a disappointing 0 points and was officially moved to the second string lineup. Terry “Big” Chuong, the support for Echo Fox, had a rough week with just 28.62 points and struggled against the top teams in the region.

Ryu, the mid laner for H2k-Gaming, was hindered by tough matchups against Fnatic and G2 Esports, earning him just 22.91 points. Finally, Kevin “Kez” Jeon, the jungler for Echo Fox, had a challenging week against TSM and IMT in his first full week with the team, landing him in the bottom of the rankings with 23.99 points.

Fantasy esports can be unpredictable, and this week’s winners and losers reflect that. Let’s see how these players bounce back in the next weeks of the Summer Split.
