Volibear Goes 1,000 Days or More Without a New Skin

Volibear: Reaching a Milestone Without a New Skin

Volibear, one of the champions in the popular game League of Legends, has achieved a significant milestone by going 1,000 days without receiving a new skin.

In June 2016, Volibear last received a makeover with the El Rayo Volibear skin. This release was part of a wrestling-inspired skin set, which included El Leon Gnar and El Macho Mundo.

Volibear now joins the ranks of Kassadin, Rek’Sai, and Vel’Koz, who have all surpassed the 1,000-day mark without a new skin. Currently, Udyr holds the top spot with 1,429 days since the release of the Definitely Not Udyr skin. Skarner and Xerath sit as the runners-up, receiving skins as part of the Guardians of the Sands release 1,403 days ago (Reddit user FalconGaels keeps track of all this in a spreadsheet available here).

Ivern currently holds the title for the oldest champion with only one skin. However, recent leaks have revealed that Perverse Ivern will be released soon. Therefore, the record for the champion with the fewest skins will soon fall to Ornn, who has only one skin, Thunder Lord Ornn, since being released in August 2017.

In terms of most skins, Ezreal and Miss Fortune lead the way with 12 each. Ezreal’s popularity in competitive League of Legends play has prompted Riot to create two team-inspired skins: TPA Ezreal and SSG Ezreal.

Recently, new skins such as Papercraft Anivia and Nunu were released last week. The upcoming additions of K/DA Ahri Prestige Edition and Arclight Brand skins have yet to be assigned release dates.
