Brazilian Voice Actor for League of Legends Champions Braum and Xerath Passes Away

Jonas Mello, the beloved Brazilian voice actor for League of Legends champions Braum and Xerath, has sadly passed away at the age of 83. According to Brazillian news portal Noticias Da Tv, Mello’s body was discovered in his apartment in São Paulo on November 18th.

In addition to his contributions to Riot’s popular MOBA, Mello also lent his voice to iconic characters such as Saruman in The Lord of the Rings and Joe Swanson from Family Guy in their Portuguese adaptations.

Mello’s acting career began in 1969 with his role as Jimmy in the Brazilian telenovela A Cabana do Pai Tomás. Throughout the years, he appeared in various shows, including playing the character Seu Chico in A Escrava Isaura. His final television work was in 2013 when he portrayed Arruda in the soap opera Flor de Caribe.

After retiring from soap operas, Mello dedicated his time to voice acting, leaving a lasting impact on the gaming and entertainment industry.

Tragically, another loss has struck the Brazilian voice acting community, as José Carlos Guerra, the voice actor for Ivern, passed away two weeks ago as well.
