Vitality’s Mid Laner Jiizuke Announces Free Agency

Jiizuke to Test Free Agency After Two Years with Team Vitality

Veteran mid laner, Daniele “Jiizuke” di Mauro, is set to venture into free agency in the upcoming 2020 League of Legends season after spending two seasons with the LEC’s Team Vitality.

Jiizuke joined Vitality in 2018 and has endured several changes to the team’s roster, particularly the jungle and bottom lanes, in hopes of achieving more consistent performances. However, the past two years have been quite disappointing, with 2019 being the most underwhelming season for Jiizuke and his teammates.

During the 2019 LEC Spring Split, Vitality finished fifth in the regular season but was quickly eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by Fnatic. In the next split, the team placed sixth in the season standings but suffered another first-round defeat, this time against FC Schalke 04.

While other teams successfully adapted their strategies by playing smarter and maintaining strong aggression, Vitality’s gameplan stagnated, and their attempts to innovate were thwarted by superior teams.

In light of the team’s lack of improvement since their 2018 Worlds run, it might be time for Vitality to consider rebuilding once again. Acquiring a new mid laner could reinvigorate their offense and provide them with a player to establish a new core around in the coming year.
