Vitality Reshuffles LEC Roster, Szygenda Returns while SLT joins Academy Team

Vitality Makes Changes to Starting Lineup in LEC Summer Split

Team Vitality, a French organization in the 2021 LEC Summer Split, is making changes to its starting lineup after a lackluster first four weeks.

Vitality is currently tied for fifth place in the standings with a 4-5 record, alongside G2 Esports, Astralis, and Excel. The organization is promoting top laner Mathias “Szygenda” Jensen back to its starting LEC roster for week five, according to sources. Enzo “SLT” Gonzalez, the newly signed top laner who started the split with Vitality, will now play for Vitality Bee, the organization’s Academy roster in the LFL.

SLT will join the Academy team starting today, while Szygenda will return to the LEC after being demoted during the off-season following just one split with Vitality.

The change is due to Szygenda’s impressive performances in both scrims and official Academy games in the LFL. As a result, SLT will return to the ERL after a half-season in the top European competition.

This isn’t the first time Vitality has exchanged players between the Academy and LEC teams. Former LEC jungler Skeanz, who now plays for the Academy team, has been promoted and demoted multiple times in the past year.

Szygenda will play his first match of the split with Vitality this Friday, July 9, at 1pm CT against Fnatic, Selfmade’s old team.
