Victory Five secures playoff spot in 2020 LPL Summer Split with convincing reverse sweep against JDG

Victory Five Secures Playoff Spot in LPL Summer Split

Victory Five (V5) emerged victorious against JD Gaming (JDG) today, securing their spot in the playoffs for the 2020 LPL Summer Split.

The standout players of the match were jungler Wei “Weiwei” Bo-han and mid laner Li “Mole” Hao-Yan. Weiwei’s dominant performance on Volibear earned him the Most Valuable Player (MVP) votes, while Mole’s Galio play was reminiscent of Faker. Mole finished the third game without a death, boasting a 100 percent kill participation and a score of 11/0/5.

JDG’s Dominance in Game 1

JDG gained early leads in all three lanes in the first game, with their mid laner Yagao leading the charge. Yagao’s roams, alongside his jungler on Volibear, solidified JDG’s advantage, resulting in an insurmountable lead. After securing the Cloud Dragon Soul and the first Baron, JDG closed out the game with a 13,000 gold lead.

V5 Strikes Back in Games 2 and 3

V5 made a comeback in the series, substituting Lee “samd” Jae-Hoon as the ADC. They adjusted their draft and managed to deny JDG’s Ashe and Volibear picks, dominating with their own selections. Weiwei’s pressure on Volibear proved to be too much for JDG, as they continuously lost objectives. Ultimately, V5 secured a swift victory in both game 2 and game 3, equalizing the series and showcasing Mole’s exceptional performance.

V5’s Journey to the Playoffs

Last split, V5 failed to win a single series. However, they have turned their fortunes around this split and have emerged as one of the top contenders for the LPL Summer Split championship. With their victory against JDG, V5 has secured their spot in the playoffs. Next, they will face EDward Gaming (EDG) and Rogue Warriors, where they are expected to secure two easy wins.
