Victory Five penalizes jungler pzx for neglecting to use Smite in LPL match versus Suning

LPL Player Fined for Forgetting Smite in Game

Once again, a player in the LPL has made the mistake of forgetting to take Smite. This time, it was Victory Five’s jungler Peng “pzx” Zhan-Xiang who was fined for his error. This incident occurred during V5’s series against Suning, which Suning ended up winning 2-1.

Pzx has been fined one month’s salary and given a warning for his mistake, according to an unofficial translation of an article on Weibo. This is not the first time such an incident has happened in the LPL, and it remains uncertain if there will be any changes to the rules in the future to prevent a similar situation.

V5’s first victory of the 2021 LPL Summer Split slipped away due to this mistake. Currently, they hold the last place without a single series win at 0-13. While V5 put up a fight against Suning, the lack of Smite in the first game gave their opponent an advantage. With a proper draft, V5 could have stood a chance against the 2020 Worlds finalists.

With only three matches remaining against EDward Gaming, FunPlus Phoenix, and LGD Gaming, it seems unlikely that V5 will be able to secure a series victory and end the regular season with a win.
