Veteran of LCS switches to support role, joins amateur team in NA

League of Legends Veteran Dardoch Makes Role Swap for 2023 Summer Split

After almost a decade as a starting jungler, North American League of Legends veteran Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett is switching roles for the upcoming 2023 Summer Split. The 25-year-old will be transitioning to the bottom lane as the starting support for Mirage Alliance, an amateur League team that recently competed in the 2023 NACL Spring Qualifiers. Mirage Alliance made the announcement last night, revealing their roster filled with former LCS talents, including Allorim and Neo.

Dardoch’s Journey and Support Role Transition

Dardoch has always been an intriguing story in the League scene, initially showing immense potential during his rookie year with Team Liquid in 2016. Considered one of the region’s rising stars, he struggled to find a long-lasting team after his debut season, playing for nine different LCS teams such as Immortals, CLG, Echo Fox, TSM, and Team Dignitas.

One of the challenges that teams faced while working with Dardoch was his critical attitude toward teammates, especially during losses. This aspect of his personality was highlighted in Liquid’s Breaking Point documentary, where he expressed his opinions about teammates, coaches, and staff members.

Since leaving Immortals’ Academy roster in 2022, Dardoch has been involved in the amateur scene and was even rumored to join a European team after signing with a U.K.-based agency. However, this marks his first venture into the support position. With his extensive experience as a top jungler, Dardoch brings valuable knowledge and leadership to Mirage Alliance.

Mirage Alliance’s Potential and Path to Success

Mirage Alliance boasts one of the stronger rosters in the amateur scene, featuring three former LCS players. However, to make their way up to the Challengers League and attract attention from major organizations, they need to establish strong team chemistry.
