Vedius confirms positive COVID test, unlikely to cast 2022 MSI rumble stage

LEC Caster Vedius Tests Positive for COVID-19, Unlikely to Participate in MSI Rumble Stage

League of Legends fans received disappointing news as popular LEC color caster Andrew “Vedius” Day announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19. This unfortunate development will most likely prevent him from taking part in the rumble stage of the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational. The rumble stage is scheduled to take place from Friday, May 20 to Tuesday, May 24. However, if Vedius recovers in time, he may be able to return for the next stage of the event. Vedius shared this update on his Twitter account, mentioning that although he is disappointed, he is grateful that his symptoms are not severe.

English Broadcast Team Faces Absences

Vedius is not the only member of the English broadcast team who will be absent from the MSI. Clayton “CaptainFlowers” Raines from the LCS and Marc Robert “Caedrel” Lamont from the LEC have both opted out of casting the tournament due to personal reasons. In addition, Eefje “Sjokz” Depoortere decided to host the 2022 PGL CS:GO Major in Antwerp instead. These absences might impact the dynamic of the broadcast team, but the show must go on.

MSI Rumble Stage Continues in Busan

Despite the setbacks, the MSI rumble stage will continue with six of the best teams in the world competing in a double round-robin format. Teams like G2 Esports, Royal Never Give Up, T1, and Evil Geniuses will face off for the first time this year. The intense battles will determine the teams that advance to the next round of the tournament. Tune in this Friday, May 20, to witness the excitement unfold.
