V5 secured a dominant victory against LGD Gaming today, winning the series in just three games, with the final game being the fastest in the 2022 LPL season, lasting only 19 minutes.

The standings in the 2022 LPL Spring Split are now tightly contested as the league reaches the halfway point of the split. However, LGD and V5 entered today’s match with different goals regarding their standings.

V5, with a 6-1 record and tied for first place, aimed to make a statement by defeating LGD. On the other hand, LGD was fighting for a chance to secure a spot in the playoffs, which became evident as they revealed their pocket Mordekaiser pick in the first game.

In the first game, V5 and LGD remained closely matched for the first 20 minutes, with only a 1,000 gold difference between them. However, LGD had an advantage in tempo and map control, forcing V5 to play reactively against their jungler Shad0w’s Lee Sin pathing. Despite LGD’s attempts to defend, V5’s relentless push led to a crushing victory in just 19 minutes.

After their first loss, V5 displayed an exceptional performance, securing two consecutive wins against LGD in under 42 minutes. This victory marks V5’s seventh win of the Split. On the other hand, LGD fought valiantly against V5 but ultimately suffered another loss, bringing their record to 1-7. They will face ThunderTalk Gaming on Feb. 25 as both teams battle to avoid the last place.
