Uzi makes a comeback to competitive gaming, signs with Bilibili Gaming

Star LPL veteran Uzi returns to competitive League of Legends

Renowned bot laner Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao is making his official comeback to the League of Legends competitive scene. Uzi has joined Bilibili Gaming for the upcoming 2022 season, as announced by the organization on Weibo today. Alongside Uzi, four other players have been signed by the team: top laner Chen “Breathe” Chen, mid laner Chu “FoFo” Chun-Lan, rookie bot laner Chiu “Doggo” Tzu-Chuan, and support Liu “Crisp” Qing-Song. Furthermore, the contract of jungler Wei “Weiwei” Bo-Han has been extended until 2022.

This move comes after Uzi retired from professional play in June 2020 due to health concerns. However, he continued playing while streaming and even launched his own Wild Rift esports team last summer. The team provided a professional training environment and offered signed players a salary.

Uzi, who is now 24 years old, began his professional career with Royal Never Give Up in 2012 and became an integral part of the team. Throughout the years, RNG came close to winning the World Championship in 2013 and 2014, and emerged victorious in the Mid-Season Invitational in 2018.

Bilibili Gaming, which finished seventh in the 2021 LPL Summer Split, has completely revamped its roster. The team is expected to perform strongly with Uzi leading the charge.
