Upcoming Yorick, Viktor, and Illaoi Skins Expected Within the Next Year

Yorick and Viktor Finally Getting New Skins in League of Legends

After a long wait, Yorick and Viktor are finally getting new skins in League of Legends. This news was revealed in a recent dev post on Riot Games’ Nexus website by Anna “SuperCakes” Donlan, a product manager at Riot Games. Donlan announced that these new skins, along with ones for Cassiopeia and Illaoi, are planned for the “next 12 months.”

Yorick fans have been waiting for a new skin for nearly six years. His last skin, Pentakill, was released in 2011 but fans had hoped for a new skin to celebrate his recent rework. Unfortunately, it never came. Similarly, Cassiopeia and Viktor’s last skins were released in 2013, while Illaoi has not received a new skin since her initial release in 2015.

In the dev post, Donlan explains that champion popularity plays a key role in determining which champions receive new skins. This means that older champions sometimes get left behind in the decision making process. Riot Games is ultimately a business, and if a champion is not being played frequently, creating a new skin for that champion may not be financially viable.

This is exciting news for League of Legends players who have been eagerly awaiting new skins for these champions. Stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming skins.
