Upcoming Patch 9.7: Update on Aftershock and Orianna Adjustments

League of Legends Players to Wait Longer for Aftershock Changes

Riot Games has confirmed that the recent Public Beta Environment changes to Aftershock will not be shipped in Patch 9.7, prolonging the wait for League of Legends players.

No Orianna Buffs in Sight Either

In addition to the Aftershock changes, Riot also announced that the big Orianna buffs that were added to the latest PBE update will not be shipped in Patch 9.7. However, players can expect a number of champions to receive buffs and nerfs in this upcoming patch.

Champion Buffs and Nerfs

Richard “MapleNectar” Henkel, a Riot developer, released an image detailing the champions that will be buffed and nerfed in Patch 9.7. The list includes Dr. Mundo, Cho’Gath, Garen, Rumble, Kayn, Azir, Pyke, Leona, and more. Players can also look forward to a buff to the jungle enchantment of Cinderhulk, which will now do 300% bonus damage to minions and monsters.

Nerfs to Sylas, Lissandra, Kayle, and More

On the other hand, Sylas, Lissandra, Kayle, Morgana, and Urgot will all be receiving nerfs in Patch 9.7. The item Dark Seal and the item Wit’s End will also be undergoing changes in their build. Additionally, Ghost Poro, Zombie Ward, and Eyeball Collector will all have some tweaks.

It’s worth noting that Riot’s decision to not release the Aftershock changes may be an attempt to balance the rune for non-tank champions while still making it viable for tanky champions. Interestingly, Riot is also nerfing Sylas and Lissandra, both of whom heavily rely on the Aftershock rune.
