The long-awaited buffs for Caitlyn have finally arrived on the League PBE. These buffs, set to release alongside a range of other champion buffs in Patch 13.16 on Aug. 16, may seem small but are actually quite significant.
A Power Boost for Caitlyn’s Lane Presence
Previously, Caitlyn needed six auto attacks to activate her passive headshot. With the upcoming change, she will only need five, greatly enhancing her poke power in the laning phase.

Caitlyn’s Headshots and Increased Damage Amplifiers
Caitlyn’s headshots are one of the most effective ways of dealing damage throughout all phases of a League match. They have increased damage amplifiers compared to her standard attacks and scale with her critical strike chance. Additionally, hitting enemies with her W or E abilities grants Caitlyn an automatic headshot. While these buffs increase the frequency of headshots, the damage itself remains unchanged.
Strategic Brush Usage Becomes More Important
One aspect of Caitlyn’s passive that provides two charges to her headshot, gained while sitting in brush, remains unaffected by the buffs. Players may find it even more crucial to traverse in and out of brush strategically in order to constantly deal barrages of damage in lane.
Caitlyn Struggles in the Current ADC Role Meta
Despite having the longest basic attack range among all champions in League, Caitlyn has faced immense challenges in the current state of the ADC role due to item overhauls. Her win rate in high elo sits at 48% according to the League stats tracking page OP.GG, although her pick rate remains stable due to her popularity as a character and her easy-to-learn kit.

League Patch 13.16 will also introduce buffs for other champions who have been struggling in their respective lanes, including Brand and Wukong.
